Once Upon a Time--A Fairy Tale Life
She lived a sunny magical life, filled with glamour, fun, late night cocktail parties and breakfasts in bed served by Jon Hamm lookalikes.
Long about 11 a.m. every day, after the calories magically exited her body with minimal effort (mani/pedis do burn some you know) she would settle down with her latest and greatest expensive laptop and begin to harken to her muse. She Created for at least three hours a day, usually to the tune of fifteen to twenty point five thousand words at a time. After hitting "send" off to her New York based agenting staff and editors she stretched, accepted her first cocktail of the day and admired her toenails and the backside of the pool boy.
Later, after the pool boy is left in a quivering alpha-male sized heap in the corner of her luxurious cabana, she accepts her second cocktail of the day and starts her social networking rounds.
"SQUEE" She squees.
"Snoopy Dancing" She proclaims.
And her many fans listen, and are well pleased.
"Massage me." She requests of the topless, six-pack endowed butler.
Later, after the butler is lead out to join to pool boy in the recovery lounge, she takes a stroll down the picturesque Pacific coast beachfront, dipping toes in the sand and cool water, accepting admiring glances from all and sundry. The sun shines upon and she is...inspired.
Wandering back up to her writing den, she opens the laptop to find: A $3.5 million movie offer for her latest series. She accepts her third cocktail and a Toberlerone chocolate bar, nibbling and sipping as the calories again magically disappear into thin air. After agreeing to terms that include trying out the male leads for her BDSM spectacle of depravity and lust, she Creates once again, crafting the last 20 thousand words to her latest book, before drifting off into a dreamless, contented sleep to the sound of lapping ocean waves and the deep bass rumbles of the replacement pool boy and butler.
'MOM!'
She jerks awake, still in her sweats from the early morning. It's already 3 p.m. There is no snack, the dogs have not been walked, breakfast is forming into wallpaper paste in the sink.
"Mom! I think I have head lice, can you check me?"
But she smiles. For today, she gained a couple of new readers, found a nice review of Amazon And all is right with the world.
The End.
Happy Writing.

Guest Post - PM White: On Using Real People

When writing my short story “More” for the “Bound for Love” anthology edited by the talented Sascha Illyvich, I focused on elements of the real world in my tale. That included using friends of mine as characters within the sexy story of past lives, slam poets and pink duct tape. Fox, for instance, is a real guy. And a great guy, whose poetry continues to shape the landscape of creative prose. When I asked him if I could use him as a character in “More,” he was more than open to the idea.
The art of characters that exist in the real world is nearly as old as writing itself. It's done all the time. Kerouac, for instance, made his living off it in my opinion. Like him, many authors choose to model their characters on those who have influenced them in the real world, though not all use their actual names or variants of their names, but everything else is true to the real life source.
Would I want to be a character in a story full of lust and orgasms? Hell yeah. Who wouldn't? As this is an election year and the news is full of conservative white men hoping to drive their moving truck up to the White House, there probably are a few that would stamp their feet and raise their hands, proclaiming “not me!” But I don't buy it. If anything, they wouldn't want the world to know about it.
As is so often the case, the story of sex is something everyone likes to look sideways at and hope no one sees them while they do it. But they all look. And again, being an election year, the news is ripe with allegations of those who are seen and those who are caught looking. Everyone likes a good scandal. Especially if there's hot sex involved.
To me, using real people in a sex story adds a spicy, racy dynamic that might have been missing from my story were they not in it. Are names changed? Sometimes. Are their acts fictionalized? Yes. Is it awesome to be memorialized in print? Hell yeah.
PM White's story "More" is one of ten featured tales in Bound for Love, a BDSM Romance anthology out now from Sizzler Editions

Six of A Story: M.C.V. Egan and The Bridge of Deaths
M.C.V. Egan lives in South Florida with her husband and teenage son. She is fluent in four languages; English,Spanish,French and Swedish. From a young age became determined to solve the 'mystery' of her grandfather's death, she has researched this story for almost two decades. The story has taken her to Denmark, England and unconventional world of past lives and psychics.
Very interesting concept for this book. Intrigue in highly political times like those of the days leading up to the second world war are always very fascinating. One would expect that Bill was likely one of the five casualties from that BA flight in 1939. If Bill is 30 years old, then there was perhaps forty years between his old life and his new one. Is there a certain length of time a soul could wait before it comes back for another life?
I am far from an authority on the subject in my humble opinion it may vary. I know there are philosophies that believe a soul immidiatelyseeks a host and there was a popular movie in the 1990s called little Buddah that had a very interesting premise where the soul found three immidiate hosts. It certainly is fun to wonder, Isn't it?
The Past life regressions for Bill are documented and they were experienced by a subject who today wishes to remain anonymous. In the regressions the subject saw himself as the Pilot. The subject approached me after a visit to a psychic I never met told him that he needed to know that in his most recent past life he had been a Pilot. In this life the subject never suffered from the phobias oe nightmares I gave Bill and to my knowledge has no interest in being a pilot. The gap between the death of the actual Pilot and the birth of the subject in question is that of a few months.
In many of the well documented books by reputable sources parallel lives that overlap are discussed. I personally found that to be verydifficult to believe and yet I have recently had two regressions where I experienced this. I am personally still trying to understand the possibility. I must say the regressions were so detailed and felt so true that I find myself exploring something I would have discounted as impossible in the not too distant past.
These five reported casualties were likely far from being simply ordinary people in the wrong place at the wrong time. Could they be revealed to be more than five simple casualties? And this sole survivor I'm certain couldn't have just been a pilot. I imagine that the historical intrigue begins long before the doomed flight crashes.
In 1939 air travel was limited to very few elites. The very Prime Minister of England at the time Neville Chamberlain flew for the very first time in September 1938 to meet Hitler and sign the Munich Pact. I was trying to answer this without a spoiler and so I'll just state that in 1939, no-one was "just" who they seemed to be. The intrigue, as the reader explores the lives of these five men do leave plenty of room to wonder.
There couldn't have been very much information left by the on-scene investigators of the crash. Eighteen years of searching through resources would be harrowing. How ever did you find any of this information, and could you give us an idea of where you found your sources?
In the Danish National archives there are still actual pieces of the plane and materials that were tested for flammable substances in sealed bags. Again not to spoil for any would be readers, the most reputable Danish investigator left a trail that showed he was not satisfied with some of the findings. I found many of the people and archives with the help of all these wonderful archivists who came up with ideas and suggested where I might look. There were many places where the report should have been filed and was not found. Sometimes I just got really lucky.
From my perspective at the age of 52 I do not see 18 years as that long. I see my 13 year old son and it feels like I gave birth yesterday. If something is important enough why have a time limit?
Even now, especially with the sources we have on the Internet, it can be difficult to determine if the information you receive is true or false. How are you able to verify the information that you glean? You must be a fabulous judge of character.
I believe that it is far more difficult to trust information on the internet than in actual archives. In archives everything is signed and official and people took responsibility for what they wrote. I was able to interview a man who wrote one of the letters from Lockheed, the manufacturer of the Lockheed Electra 10A . He explained what he remembered and said emphatically that he only wrote what he knew to be true.
The Engineers who disagreed with the fire expert did so politely and explained that as much as the gentleman knew about fires he did not know a thing about aircraft.
Also trying to avoid spoilers the fire expert was appointed by the newly formed secret police and the most seasoned Danish investigator left a trail of evidence that shone a light on doubt.
I am not so sure about the judge of character. I think I can be fooled as well as the next guy or gal.
I can see the likely cause of the mystery in The Bridge of Deaths as the crash and how it relates to young Bill's current traumatic nightmares. Can you say where he finds love in this? Or if the love story has even anything to do with Bill?
If you mean the subject (let's call him the 'real Bill') that had the past life regressions, to my knowledge he has not found a "soulmate" from a past life.
I created the love interest out of thin air, and I explain in the introduction how I came up with the idea. The quirky, wierd thing was that I created a character called Maggie and the woman she represents was indeed a Margaret. As the 'real Bill' became very detached from the story I decided to make the one in the story a complete skeptic, which the real one is not, he is simply very private. As such I needed someone motivated and I think we can all agree that love is a very motivating energy that helps any and all of us to achieve our goals.
Again the 'real Bill' has never suffered from any nightmares or phobias, those are all my creation and tapping a little on my very own personal experiences, not in the least related to the crash of the G-AESY.
I'm curious also as to how a British passenger plane crashes in Danish waters ends up relating back to the United States. Were the Americans heavily involved in the political intrigue of the times before the war had even started in Europe?
The airplane a Lockheed Electra 10A was built in the USA. Two of the passengers were representing the American company Standard Oil of New Jersey. My grandfather was a Mexican citizen but he attended Texas A & M University as well as Columbia University in New York. The story however does have a strong European angle and as Anthony Crossley the British M.P. on board was known as the sole voice for The Arab cause during the discussions for the Palestinian Territories the story is pretty global.
Author Questions
You've mentioned that by nature you are very skeptical. And also mentioned that you would not work with any psychics who asked for information other than your date of birth. How is it that you came to write a book about past life phenomena and still retain that skepticism, especially after your accident that was predicted by the first fortune teller you encountered?
I have noticed how often people distort the past. I think the best example is in politics! I feel that I tend to have very accurate memories and yet I wonder if I distort the past as I observe others do.
I recently had a very interesting reading and I was amazed as the psychic in question Beckah Boyd of New Hampshire was so accurate about matters that I do not discuss on-line and I found myself saying something really foolish such as "How did you know?" It was aSkype reading and I could see her expression, it was a nice expression that clearly said "I am psychic."
My skeptisism comes from how much there is out there, and how the further you dig the more complex the philosophies become. Also there are very fake psychics out there. If they need to ask too many questions, then they are just like a friend giving you advice, while being privy to the facts.
One of the psychics who helped me with The Bridge of Deaths; Rosella Call without asking a single question said to me on our first encounter "Your son cannot get near milk" I was already aware that he was super allergic to all dairy products, I carried an epi-pen Jr. and had already experienced a scary visit to the ER, with my son bloating like a balloon. That is a psychic, one that can tell you with out asking.
You are very well travelled. Have you found an area of the world where there are better psychics?
I do not travel in search of psychics! But that would be an amazing and fun book to research. I have encountered many people of different countries who assure me the best and majority are found in their land!
I have a feeling that some of the best psychics avoid working as psychics. I find it so refreshing that all cultures have means of divination in common, and I hope that will be one of the factors that unites us as global citizens. Here in florida we have an entire town Cassadaga, I have never been there personally, but I bet it is really fun.
Can you divulge more about how one would be able to have a past life regression?
I have personally had both private and group past life regressions. All have taken place in Florida. I highly recommend anyone who is interested to look for group regressions in their area, they are inexpensive and is a good gateway into hypnosis. If something in particular wants to be explored then invest on a private session, but I recommend a few group sessions before anyone plunges into private. You can probably look up Hypnotherapists in your area or country.
Perhaps read a good book, such as Many Lives , Many Masters or Other Lives Other Selves. The process starts by relaxing you and letting you drift deeper, down a staircase or through a tunnel. Again as a skeptic, how much is your imagination, and many do question that.
I personally had a very strong physical reaction to a regression as an Aztec, and I was so baffled that people could guess where I was from, I was not used to it at all. I am very tall, left Mexico very young and grew up surrounded by people of so many different Spanish speaking countries that my Spanish was simply neutral. To this day I have a very marked Mexican accent when I speak Spanish.
But some of the things I have 'seen' in my regressions I do question.
When you mention that you used psychometry to help you through times when you felt blocked I'm curious about the objects you would hold. Was there something special or peculiar about them? Did the objects belong to either yourself or the psychics, or were they even antiques from England or Denmark?
After the crash my grandmother was sent "personal effects" amongst them were two damaged watches. A monogramed one we knew to be my grandfather's and another we had no idea who this belonged to. The latter was very severely damaged by fire. Every psychic that held the watches told a similar tale and described the owner of the severely burnt watch in a description fitting a corpse that hadseverly burnt hands and wrists.
From what I've read on your site, you were very close to one of the people your characters were based on. Would you like to share any more on this? I'd love to know more about how we can choose where we'll be born next and how we can influence our next lives.
I researched all of this because it was the story of my grandfather's death. There is a lot of fact I often wonder if we choose or have to accept the Karma we have earned. Maybe the love that binds us creates the possibility to go back to those we love.
What is next for you and The Bridges of Death?
I am working with a co-author Jolie De Marco she is a clairvoyant and a healer. Our book 4covert2overt is far more paranormal than historical. It has an interesting premise and it is an easy fun read. We hope to be finished in a few months I really love the characters we are working with.

Whimsical Friday: Promoting with a twist.
Another way to get your work out there and noticed by more people is a catchy slogan that ties into your book. For example, for my Darkness series, I wanted to come up with something that would promote all 8 books rather than doing one for each individual book. I gave it some serious though. The books are about a city encased in darkness after a ritual to blot out the sun is invoked and allows vampires to take over the city. I wanted something upbeat because it is a dark style of book, but it also has plenty of comedy. So I went with the comedic aspect. I wanted something to put on promotional items aside from the book covers. Face it, as beautiful as our covers are, sometimes they just don’t look right on a product, or people are reluctant to buy a coffee mug with simply a book cover on it or if that cover is erotic, they can’t take it to their work place. Same thing goes for T-shirts. You want something flashy, something that doesn’t always have to be about that specific book, but rather something that tells about the style your write. So with my Darkness series, being a paranormal vampire genre, I went with, Save a Vampire. Donate Blood.
My latest project is for my Demon series. Again, since there is more than one book, I combined the two into one ad. Using the titles of both books, Awaken the Demon and Offer the Demon I made it look somewhat like a button with the titles curving around the demon in the center. Right now I have placed the logo on Track suits, hoodies and plan to do it for mugs as well. I'll let you all know if it amounts to sales. Again, it's simple, but it draws the eye and makes the reader curious as to what I'm promoting. Anyone wearing the track suit or hoodie is advertising for me. Where ever they go, they are taking my work with them. Someone wearing it on the bus, catches the eye of the person behind them. They're curious enough to write down the titles and the web address to check out at a later time. Or better yet, use their iphone or any other digital device to locate it. Wednesday, March 21, 2012
California Dreamin' (Bouts of Random)
Just a quick post today really.
I'm on the Left Coast for the first time in my life. Pretty excited. Although it is a mixed bag of excited as it is one of those situations best labeled as "it's complicated." Extremely. Complicated.
I'll spare you. But I'm determined to enjoy the week here. Had a lovely evening with spouse....date night in Laguna Beach is hard to argue with.
Today I'm headed to Crystal Cove for a walk along the Pacific Coast.
Later I'm going to meet up with one of my Publishers face to face. Can't wait!
Tomorrow we are "exploring" the area...with an eye towards, well, anyway. It's a long story.
So to recap:
I'm on Tour. Ah the wonders of the Internet Machine, eh kids? Today there is another review of Floor Time (and that reviewer is jonesin' for the sequel...). There are some lovely prizes at stake here...
It's full of WOW! and "CAN'T WAIT TO READ MORE" words but got a B+. Must be a pretty steep curve. But the words are nice!
Click here for the WHOLE tour (for more opportunities to win!)
I began the OMG Can you WRITE THAT annoyingly hyped up novel 50 Shades of Grey. I stopped reading it and I figured out why. First Person POV is my least favorite format for "adult novels" (I'm good with it for YA, seems more realistic). And this particular heroine crawled up in my nerves and laid a bristly egg. But, as we all know People ("mommies who love their porn" or whatever) Are Raving. So don't let me stop you. I love a well written, realistic BDSM (or D/s) novel. To my mind, this is Not That.
Oh crap. Tim Tebow needs to brush up his resume. Poor kid. QUICK! somebody convince him to be a romance novel cover model!
And I'm writing the fourth Realtor Book now. Here is a taste (here and ONLY HERE....so spread the word.)
I'm telling Rob and Blake's story for this fourth installment, for those of you in the know on the characters in this popular series. Rob, if you recall, knew Jack in college. And they were quite the pair:
Finally, My Louisville Cardinals are alive and well in the Men's NCAA b-ball tourney. Gotta head back to Michigan and withstand the slings and arrows of all my Michigan State Fans...GO CARDS!!!
Lastly, Liz's book recommendations for the winter and spring are:
Erotic Romance: Crash Into You by Roni Loren
Mainstream: (it's a tie)
The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides
What Alice Forgot by Lianne Morriarty
YA:
The ENTIRE Chaos Walking series by Patrick Ness
The Knife of Never Letting Go--The Ask and the Answer--Monsters of Men
they've been optioned for a movie--you will see why.
And a book that defies categorization but has a "YA" label:
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (if you can't stand to be emotionally ripped apart by a book, best avoid this one)
It's 5 a.m. here. I'm wide awake.
Yeah.
Later

Bound for Love - Guest Post by Genevieve Ash

People often say that a D/S relationship cannot be romantic. When I saw the call for the ‘Bound for Love’ anthology, I was immediately interested. What greater love is there than to trust another person body and soul? The trust required in these relationships is absolute. The submissive is not a victim, but holds the power of allowing the freedom to love completely, to fill them. Life and relationships are complicated enough without adding physical bondage, but it is the give and take, not the pain and restraint, that fuel these couplings.
I like to include BDSM elements in almost all of my stories because there is always a power play when love is involved. Sometimes the roles are clear and other times, the line is blurred. Regardless, of the shift in power is takes two (or sometimes more) to form the circle. Is not the concept of aftercare, romantic? Do you not feel the incredible power of love as the submissive gives all to the dominant? Is the dominant not opening to the possibility of accepting the love that is offered?
Letting go is difficult for most, but when you truly love someone you find a way to face your fears and give that person all that you are. Accepting all that another has to give is often even tougher, but when the two come together, it’s magic. If you read these stories, I think you will find that love and romance can take many forms. So, I ask again, is BDSM romantic?
Find out more at www.genevieveash.com.
Indeed the feelings and truths expressed in BDSM when done by two consenting adults are often confused by the vanilla, but show the players unfathomable depths of passion and trust. Genevieve's story involves female cuckholdry, until the very end. Or does it? Find out in Bound for Lvoe
