What I Learned on My Vacation, by Liz Crowe

Dear Devoted Readers of Liz,

This year I took a vacation to the beach in the great state of Texas. We went to Galveston, and stayed at the beautiful Hotel Galvez. It is haunted. That was cool.

I got a ton of writing done.

(overheard... a lot)
"Where's mom?"

"She's on the verandah again...."

This was the view from my "writing cave" last week.

I learned a lot about Galveston, a bunch of hurricanes and drank more Shiner beer in one week than is likely legal in some states--I love that stuff.

Shiner Gasm!

What I learned is this:  No matter how much creative work you get done in one, more-or-less stress-free week, the more you want. I made huge progress on my new novel, The Essence of Time, the 4th Realtor book in the newly popular series. Nearly 25k words!  But I have probably about 20 more to go...and now, I gotta dive back into my beer life for a few days.

Ah well.

Oh, and I'm going to the RomFest in Tennessee in June, signing at BAM (that's "Books-a-Million" for the initiated, which included me at one point) with Sherilynn and many other talented folks. Yes, that does mean I will have print copies .... ! Another milestone.
Hotel Galvez...5th floor is DEFINITELY haunted..

Have a good week.
Drink Craft Beer.
Anything else and the Macrobreweries win.
Liz

  1. Isn't the state beer of Texas awesome? Nothing beats a cold Shiner. I'm glad that you had fun and got some writing done. Too bad I couldn't come see you. Evil, evil day job.

  6. What great pictures. I can't believe you actually got writing done. I'd want to sit around and watch the scenery. Good for you for getting more than half the book finished. Glad you had such a good time. I've heard of Shiner Beer. We may even have it here on the East Coast.
