A true story…I was changing my daughter’s diaper one day and thought… “wouldn’t a werewolf who didn’t eat meat be really funny?” Alas, the story idea and book title were formed and the rest followed shortly thereafter.Basically, I wanted to write a werewolf story and this just seemed like a fresh take on it. But also this is the first in a series. The next book will be entitled Malibu Moon.
How did your characters come to life?
I decided that it would add more humor and temptation to the story to make the werewolf’s love interest a famous chef (who handles meat on a regular basis). I’m also a huge fan of the Food Network and created my own version of that in the story.
Plus, I thought that the idea of a secret wolf society that lives in sunny California would be fun!
Blurb of your book:
When a vegetarian werewolf falls for a celebrity chef, will his appetite for her cause him to stray from his vegan ways?
Santiago Salazar is a reformed werewolf living in sunny Beverly Hills, California. When he catches sight of celebrity chef Gabrielle Connor on television, he’s soon drooling in his tofu burger. After they meet at one of Gabbi’s book signings, Santiago is thrilled to discover that the attraction is mutual. The two hit it off in a major way but when the night takes a dark turn…Gabbi must decide if she can live with the new world that she’s discovered and Santiago must ultimately answer to the werewolf code of conduct.
Take one hungry werewolf and mix with one lonely chef, stir in some hot sex and Vegan Moon delivers a tasty treat that will keep you coming back for more.
Hey Kerri,
ReplyDeleteI like the inconguities you've set up here. Sounds juicier than a tofu burger (are they juicy?). Loved the hockey story, sure this is equally awesome! Best wishes
Yeah! I think it's figured out. Great story!! Always fun to see where ideas come from...but I'm not seeing the connection between dirty diaper and werewolves...obviously though, it worked for ya!! :)
ReplyDeleteJust testing the comments because someone was having trouble earlier.
ReplyDeleteThanks for having me today, Shiela!
Hugs,
Kerri

ReplyDeletehi, Kerri,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the release. I love the premise of this story and immediately got the idea of a 12-step program for carnivores. :-)

What a great concept, Kerri! I think I'll have to check your story out (especially since I'm also a Food Network fan.) :-)
ReplyDeleteThis looks great, Kerri. But no surprise there:)
ReplyDeleteI saw the ad for this at Book Boost one of my favorite blogs.
Hi Kerri,
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea for a werewolf tale.
What a hilarious idea!
ReplyDeleteYou should market the book on vegetarian websites and blogs.
Good luck.
Warmly,
Lisabet
