Where did the idea from my book come from?
I had been working upon the internet trying to heal the spiritual problems of others. I found that most of the people I helped did not know how to help themselves. They were suffering from spirits bothering them, psychic vampires, and many other problems.
Psychic attack can be spirits, past life problems, psychic abilities awakening and opening the person up to negative energies, haunted houses and places, and psychic vampires. Psychic vampires are people who drain others of energies.
I wanted to find methods that would help people to resolve these issues themselves. People with problems need to have their self-esteem and confidence built up. It empowers them and teaching them methods helps to keep them safe from problems.
I thought what was the first thing every one does that studies magic? They try to invent their own alphabet and use it. I studied magical alphabets and the uses they had been put to during the years such as ciphers, codes and actual repositories of energy.
I then developed the alphabet and symbols I used and energized them with akashic energy volts to make it so they were set in purpose. I made the symbols work so the people who could not visualize or concentrate well could use them. I then tested it out for a couple of years before writing the book.
How did the idea for the symbols come to you?
I tried to custom design the symbols for the different problems that were common requests of the people that I help. The link breaking wheel breaks all links to abuse and trauma. The more energy that has been put into abuse and trauma the more it builds up into a monster to be dealt with in the persons life.
A person who has fears can write down the fears and release the fears and energies. It clears the energies and has helped many people. I wanted something that could be printed off and made personal then used to heal the problem. I decided upon wheels and symbols to do this.
How did your methods come to life?
What brought the glyphs to life was the use of them by others. I have testimonials for my book on my website yet hearing how many people had positive results worked best to bring the glyphs alive.
I feel the more people that use them to heal the more they adjust to different energies and do a fantastic job of healing. The wheels and more advanced methods came to life also through peoples need of ways to heal themselves.

Nita Hickok has been one of the most knowledgeable, kind, caring healer that I have come across. She is devoted to helping her clients until they are well. My energies had been stolen on a consistent basis by an Psychic Energy Vampire and finding ways to stop the attacks were difficult, as everyone can state a problem, but no one really had any solution as to how to stop the energy vampire from draining energy. Nita has stopped the attacks from happening and she truly is an ANGEL, because without her and her book, I don't know what I would have done. Her book has shown me ways of not only protecting myself but the people I care about.
ReplyDeleteThe cover on this book is horrible.
ReplyDeleteI know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover but the truth is you do. Based on the cover, I would never read it.
"Make them laugh, make them cry, but don't confuse 'em"
ReplyDeleteThis cover confuses and even after reading the author's replies, it is still confusing. Is this about an alphabet or about solving psychic attacks? Very poor interview
Such a god-awful cover :(
ReplyDeleteThe author might take a note from the other covers on this blog.
In real life the cover is more of a navy blue than the blue here.
ReplyDeleteThe author uses the image on her website as a warrior. Thus fighting psychic attack.
Nana, you said the book cover was horrible, but never addressed the reason why. Is it the color, or what?
Anonymous, it is about both. The alphabet is used to solve psychic attacks.
Paul, what makes it god-awful? You need to address exactly what makes it bad to you.
Thank you all for your input. However, as a writer myself, I have learned that just saying something is bad, doesn't help the author or the artist. They need to know what it is that makes it that way to you.
Hello Everyone
ReplyDeleteI liked the blue and the cover. Solving Psychic Attack is about an alphabet and solving psychic attack.
Talismans and alphabets are used through out the Western Tradition of magic. It might be confusing to others who do not know this subject.
The book cover is the symbol of a warrior who fights back. You have to fight back when having spiritual problems of certain types or lose yourself to mental illnesses. It means it is symbolic of the book.
The book is full of methods to heal, defend, protect and stop others from doing harmful things to you and your energetic system.
It has ways to stop physical and mental illnesses, cleanse links too abuse and bad experiences, remove the energies that cause imbalances that will cause diseases over time.
So I do not have characters to put on the cover of the book. I have nothing but symbols and that is why the female warrior was chosen.
The methods to create the ways to create the alphabet and the talismans are complex but made simple.
People spend thousands of dollars on alternative healers. I am the most reasonably priced healer that I know of when it comes to the time spent and the type of work I do.
I had people coming to me saying they had lost a great deal of money seeing others who do not specialize in this type of work. I wrote this book to empower them and make their lives better.
On the questions they were slanted for a fiction book with characters so I tried to keep the questions similar but write about a non-fiction book.
It is why I might sound confusing and why the cover is simple and a symbol.
If I may, I have a few comments and my own opinions that may sum up the issues that people have with the cover image.
ReplyDeleteIt's bland and static. There's no real hook, or way that the image grabs you. I do not see a focal point. It is a static image that is dropped straight in the center of the cover that has a number of Photoshop light filters applied to it. There really isn't anything that catches the eye.
I think I understand what the artist was trying to achieve based on the subject matter I could piece together from looking at the image. But, there are much stronger ways to portray these thoughts.
The field of blue is too big, and not really interesting - it's just what it is, blue. Blue works for the psychic plain but again, there are more interesting ways to present it.
I can see how the female warrior was utilized here, but a more dynamic image with the same characteristics would have lent more power to the figure.
Again, its just my opinion.
While I do agree the cover isn't the best, it does look like an interesting book.
ReplyDeleteI really love this Story Behind A Book. If only I had a book out right now!
I love the cover of the book, it is a picture of light and hope, of a person who is connected with their higher self. Anyone who does not understand what the front cover symbolizes is not ready to read the book. As far as the book's content, it is distilled knowledge taken from a history of esoteric knowledge, made simple for people who don't even have a remote idea of anything other than their materialistic lives.
ReplyDeleteThe book is fantastic. it is very informative, has been written with knowledge of the subject and, most importantly, with the best of intentions to help people to being able to defend themselves against negative forces and psychic vampires.
ReplyDeleteThis book is baffling. Let's leave the cover (which makes no sense) alone for a moment.
ReplyDeleteI think it is rude to imply that the comment leavers do not understand because they are uncomfortable with the subject.
Readers do not understand because the message (given in the interview) is not clear. A symbol? A glyph?
Wheels? Which exactly is it.
"The link breaking wheel breaks all links to abuse and trauma."
I read that six times and I still do not understand.
Is the author a linguist? the term "Alphabet" also seems out of place.
"People with problems need to have their self-esteem and confidence built up."
I find that sentence rather condescending. By magically solving "psychic" attacks, that will help boost self-esteem.
"I've been working upon the internet..."
That sounds like nothing more than a scheme.
It is people like this author, piling their trade that I shudder to hear about and see too often in my practice.

Nita Hickok's specialty is energy healing. Her method is a simple introduction to beginning magick. The method and invocation are self-help techniques to rid anxiety and fears or negative energy.
ReplyDeleteI think the effectiveness comes from the symbols and the thoughts that she has personally infused in these pictographs. It maybe a counter balance between positive energy vs. negative energy.
Comments that contain ALL caps, attack the blog and are abrasive containing foul language will NOT be posted.
ReplyDeleteLove the look of the new APA btw :)
ReplyDeleteAll right.
The issue being discussed here is the cover and the content as presented by the author in the interview .
First, people are allowed to express their opinions. They do not have to explain why they think it is "god-awful" to say that is what they think. And it might not help the author but it is feedback that should be taken into account, not taken defensively or brushed off.
If the cover looks that much different in real life, then the image being used should be changed. People are buying books online and this is the first time I have seen the book or the cover online. What images are used online are incredibly important. If it isn't a true reflection, it must be changed.
Symbolic and what the images mean aside; this cover has no focal point whatsoever. I would be hard pressed to carry it in my store, if I saw it in a catalog.
The content:
This is not a book on the introduction to magick as one commenter suggests. This is a book on Solving Psychic Attacks. There has been beautiful, informative books written in the Intro 101 category but by the author's own definition and the description of this book, this one does not fall there.
It was a very weak interview on the author's part.
Previous commenters are correct when they said the message of the book is not clear.
Instead of having those who are friends of the authors jump in defense, I stress again that this feedback is very important and should be taken into account if this book has a hope of selling.
In defense of the author, she had not done this type of interview before. I did my best to explain the type of interview it was.
ReplyDeleteComments are good and can be very helpful to the author as the ones commenting often give great advice as to what they find wrong with the book, the cover, the interview.
Ivy: Thank you for your compliment. I love doing Story Behind the Book and love hearing authors explain their stories.
You don't need to have a book out right now to be on Story behind the Book. You could talk about any one of your backlist of books. If you’re interested in doing an interview you can contact me and we can set up a date.
Nita is a of of a kind healer I am lucky to know. She is a healer, advisor, friend who truly cares about you. Very non materialistic and so passionate about her work.
ReplyDeleteI think its a blessing from God, that I wrote to her out of the blue one day several years back, and I still keep in touch with her, so much so that she is a part of my life.
To Me the cover symbolizes freedom from negativity , and filled with good energy. The warrior in the white light symbolizes the fight against all negativity.
ReplyDeleteI think it perfectly symbolizes what the book is about, that is ways to fight and get rid of all kinds of negative
I don’t think it is right to judge a book based on its cover. The `content’ within a book matters, not the cover. Moreover one should keep in mind who is the writer. Nita is an `expert’ in the field of magic and problems relating to the spirit, mind and the soul. I had met many known Hindu priests in India but no one could get me out of my problem and issues until I met Nita. She has guided and cured me of so many issues, that it is absolutely unbelievable. Nita has clients all over the world and this proves her expertise. I sincerely hope and pray that people who are victims of astral problems must seek her help! Her books will surely have GREAT knowledge about astral and psychic issues. She has healed me in a fantastic way and I have learnt so much from her. I hope Nita is able to write more about her ways of healing people so that people can benefit from her experience which is over 30years!
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing about some of the responses is that they are from people who know the author. People who are coming out of the woodwork to defend her.
ReplyDeletePeople are taking their time to be offer constructive criticism. Criticism that can be used to build upon, or ignored at your own peril. The only thing that anyone reading this page can judge on is 'the cover' and 'the interview'.
Based on what is shown, this is where the comments are. There is no history presented in the interview. No conversation about where the author has come from or how she has dealt with people in other contexts. The defensive comments are totally taken out of context and not a direct response to the comments themselves. And were they a direct defense to the comments themselves, they would truly show how useless they are.
If you're putting your work out for people to see on the internet, then it becomes subject to debate, critique, and criticism. Should you not be open to finding out what people who may not normally see your work (as they do not know of you because they may be unaware of what you do or who you are) and presumably they would be where your core audience would pick up new readers and new interest from in order to sustain your book sales; it is invaluable information.
Rather than harshly criticizing someone's opinion, rudely dismissing someone's thoughts, or plainly ignoring what a person has taken the time to say. Listen. Learn. Respond with some credibility and coherence.
Think about how you may have reacted were you in that person's shoes. The internet is so rife with people shooting off at the mouth, and just trashing other people, or jumping to a friend's defense in the loudest way they can. Perhaps if the forum was used for thoughtful discussion, something much greater than what was produced could be created.
