Thanks Tina-Sue, great quotes as usual! Wherever do you find them all?
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping in, Wendy.
ReplyDeleteI actually have files upon files of quotes that I have collected over the years!
Nice quotes. Just remember there's a difference between Goals and Dreams. Goals need to be things you can word toward and measure. Dreams are those things you'd like, but are out of your control.
ReplyDeleteMake the NY Times best seller list? A dream, because you can't control who buys your book. A goal? Write the best book you can, query agents, editors, etc. Keep track of your progress. "Get an agent" is a dream, but "submit 5 query letters" is a measurable goal.
Hey! I didn't know you moved Thoughtful Thursday over here! Cool.
ReplyDeleteNice quotes as usual.
...I think this is the first time anyone has criticized your quotes! Difference between goals and dreams? That's debatable. Holy cows...guess everyone has an opinion.
Um .... I most certainly did NOT criticize these quotes, and I'm sorry if anyone took my comment in that way. I believe I even began my comment with praise for the quotes.
ReplyDeleteThere IS a difference between reaching a goal you can control and having a dream come true. Goal Setting is different from wishing.
I've done numerous blog posts and attended many workshops on goal setting. Notes from one of them can be found here:
If this blog isn't open to discussion, I apologize for intruding.
@Terry, I did not take your comments as criticism!
ReplyDeleteThank-you for dropping by and commenting.
This blog is *always* open for discussion. Which is a major pitfall but also keeps life on the APA blog pretty interesting.
@SNP Thoughtful Thursday has been here for awhile. I guess anything and everything is up for debate?
I'm printing these and sticking them on my fridge.
