I follow a lot of blogs. Some blogs (like those that have to do with the publishing industry) I follow because I think they are valuable resources that other authors would appreciate. Other blogs I follow are from writers and authors whose work I truly enjoy and some have to do with personal interests.
And I do make an effort to read the blogs I follow-even if I don't stop to comment.
But I do not auto-follow.
Authors Promoting Authors has quite a handful of Followers and some of you have been with us from the very beginning back-when an idea of mine was just an experiment.

Open only to those who Follow APA through Google Friend Connect. Here is how to enter:
1. Write a blog post about Authors Promoting Authors.
Three extra entries given if this sentence is filled in: "I follow Authors Promoting Authors because...."
2. Two extra entries given if you Twitter or Facebook about this contest.
3. Five extra entries given if you write two blog posts about Authors Promoting Authors.
Email me with the link to the blog posts at: apasuggestions@gmail.com with "Contest" in the subject line.
Extra entries will be given for visibility, creativity, enthusiasm and cleverness. Those with the most entries win. First, Second,Third and Grand Place winners.

First Place
The first place winner of this contest will receive a weekend promotional spot-if you are an author of a book this is a Book Blog Tour. If you are not, then we will profile you. Second Place
The second place winner of this contest will receive a copy of No Shadows Left Behind and a copy of a book APA has reviewed.
Third Place
The third place winner of this contest will receive a writing critique on a query letter or synopsis (and yes, it will be kept confidential), limit of ten pages.
Grand Place
A grand place winner will also be decided amdl receive all three prizes.

I love this idea. Time to put the brain back in the cranium, this is both easy and challenging. Easy because you simply have a wonderful and helpful blog. I also find it easier to write when the brain is back in it's cage...allows for better control of my ever wandering thoughts. Thank-you.

A neat contest. In my blog I am doing something different. My blog is not about writing at all, but my attempt to give back to readers on things totally unrelated to writing.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I do conduct a blogtalk radio program where I interview authors, and I write a daily newspaper column, both promoting other writers. Anyone interested, please contact me! No cost to anyone except a little time. Another way I give back.
I have mine partially written, I need to finish it and post it tomorrow on B.A.S.E.D. Press' blog. I have a gazillion reasons to follow APA, but I think I narrow it down to a handful! I love this contest! excellent idea!
ReplyDeleteI follow APA because I love the facebook chat, love the updates, love to know there is a group that gives support to other writers in such a loving way (almost family), Tina-Sue rocks... man, I could just go on and on.
