[I've edited this post from the original. Thank-you to everyone who left positive feedback]
This isn't a case of us not having tough skins to wade through the negative feedback, this is a case of wondering, given the results of this year so far and messages received if there is any point of continuing on.
And to those who do come by, read about the authors and the books we feature, repost books and show support, I am obviously preaching to the converted.
You have my heartfelt and sincere grattitude for doing so.
Keep up your great job! This is such an awesome blog and resource for the book world. Keep your spirits up, forget about disappointing turnout and needless negativity and just keep doing your best.
ReplyDeleteI never felt at all as though I was being pressured to buy, read or otherwise participate more than I was able to, which was not as much as I would have liked. I wish I could have done more. I posted a number of times with comments and such. Tweeted several times and overall, participated at a level that was somewhat low but which fit within my schedule and commitments.
ReplyDeleteI'm always happy to help when I can...
Your blog is great, and I think it's great all the effort you put into it. Some people are prone to react over-dramatically or negatively. Don't let few people's negativity put you off from doing what you enjoy.
ReplyDeleteIf you enjoy keeping the blog going, then know that there are plenty of us who appreciate it.
Don't let anybody offend you for doing such a great job. I understand your disappointment but the comments that the author made were completely unwarranted. I have seen authors advertise their work with posts having nothing to do with books or worst promoting another book. Your work is important and appreciated by me and a vast majority of the members in APA. Please continue your work. I don't know about anyone else, but I need you.
ReplyDeleteNegativity does not belong where books are concerned, it just grows and consumes. You are doing what you feel is right in your heart and thanks for that.
ReplyDeleteI love criticism, it makes us think outside of our personal boxes. I think I can say, however, we do not appreciate negative feedback that sounds more frightening than constructive. But we sure love all the comments!
