Authors Helping Authors To Promote Their Books

Authors Promoting Authors

This is an exciting space for authors to promote their books.

It'll be launched August 4, 2008.

(In the meantime, work to this blog and slotting authors will be done and posts about useful things to writers might show up as well)

Book promotion can be hard.

It doesn't have to be.

This is a space where authors can have free promotion and also a chance to network with others in the writing craft.

Here is how it works:

1. Authors Promoting Authors will post a book cover and blurb.

2. The next author on the list will take the post that was up before theirs and post it on their blog.

Its as simple as that.

It is the theory of "If you tell five people, those five people will tell those five people."

How to be apart of Authors Promoting Authors

1. Its first come, first serve basis.

2. Send an email to authorspromotingauthors@gmail.com with a jpg. of your cover and a blurb about your book. Also include links of where to buy your book and the link to your blog.

3. Authors Promoting Authors will post your cover and blurb.

4. You take the post before yours and post it on your blog.

5. Authors Promoting Authors is a very overworked, underpaid human being.
A little respect and courtesy is always helpful.

Requirements

1. You must be published by an independent/small press or self-published.

2. You must have an active blog.

3. Material that is offensive; violent or prejudicial will not be posted.

4. There are always exceptions to the rules; if you think you might be in a gray area send an email and ask.

Books will be posted, Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.

  1. Hi Tina-Sue,
I have a couple of questions.
Are e-pubbed books considered small press?
What happens if you don't particularly like the genre/premise/blurb of the book before you and don't think it is appropriate to post it on your own blog? The whole integrity of your blog thing?
By the way, this is a great thing you are doing.

  2. Hello Suzanne,

Its a gray line on the ebooks, but I think as long as you aren't with an e publisher that has a marketing budget into the triple thousands, its fair game.
I understand the whole integrity of your blog, but at the same time, I would think that most authors would want to support others.
I thought about not liking the genre/premise/blurb of the book before you, but then again the point is to allow others to reach wider audiences.
So if you are a Historical Fiction writer and you get a Romance novel, its sort of the luck of the draw.
I am going to off set any major troubles by someone who is really uncomfortable with whoever is before them, by taking that book and posting it to my own personal blog (its the fairest way I can think of).
Thank you for your support and questions, honestly when you didn't comment I was wondering what you thought for the whole day!
